Tilbury Shore Excursion: Harry Potter Film Locations Black Cab Tour

Date Unavailable

Step into a traditional London Black Cab and embark on a magical journey to the real-life locations where the Harry Potter films were shot. From Diagon Alley in the City of London to the Ministry of Magic in historic Westminster—we will drive over the bridge that the triple-decker Knight Bus for stranded wizards sped over, and visit locations in Westminster, the City and Southwark to find out how they were magically transformed for the movies. I will point out interesting and historical places on the way.

Tilbury to Central London: A Magical Journey

Step off your ship and straight into a classic London icon. We’ll meet you right at Tilbury Port in your own private Black Cab for a seamless transfer to the heart of the capital. Your driver, Shane Healy (who is also a qualified Westminster Guide) knows these streets better than anyone and will point out key landmarks as the city unfolds during your journey.

Upon arrival, you’ll meet your dedicated guide, Lee Cooper, who joins the tour to provide expert insight into each filming location. While Shane handles the driving, Lee gives you his undivided attention, sharing his knowledge alongside a collection of witty cabbie stories.

This taxi-based tour maximises sightseeing and minimises walking, covering all of London's essential Harry Potter filming locations. Follow Lee’s expert route or create your own custom adventure; with our team at your side, you’ll experience London on your own terms.

Discover Harry Potter Film Locations

Disappearing through a brick wall at King's Cross.

We will start the tour as soon as you are ready, and you can spend as much time as you wish at the various Harry Potter London film locations. We will also allow plenty of time for photographs.

We’ll visit the actual film locations of Diagon Alley, The Leaky Couldron, Gringotts Bank (interior when open), the Wobbly Bridge, Ministry of Magic site, and follow the route of the Knight Bus. And of course no Harry Potter tour would be complete without a visit to the famous Platform 9¾, along with the Harry Potter Shop at Kings Cross station.

With pedestrians and St Paul's Cathedral in distance.

I will tell you stories of my encounters as a London cabby when I picked up Bellatrix Le Strange, Professor McGonagall and ‘he who must not be named’ (V——t). You will also see many of London's major sights on the tour and I will tell you their history and stories with plenty of stops for photos, coffee and snacks. Our tour usually finishes at platform 9¾, Kings Cross Station.

Return to Tilbury

Once your London adventure concludes, Shane will escort you back to Tilbury Port. We meticulously coordinate the return journey to ensure you arrive with plenty of time before your ship sets sail.

  • Accessibility: Shane's London Black Cab is wheelchair-accessible and can enter areas where regular cars are restricted.
  • Bespoke Experience: This tour is fully customisable. We can adjust the route, add specific stops, or blend elements from our other tours to suit your interests.
  • Tour Details: There is minimal walking involved with this tour, just a few minutes at each location, however we recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing.
